The Medical Care On Board Ship Course is designed for Seafarers and those working offshore to meet STCW-95 requirements for medical care. Approved by the Maritime Port Authority (MPA), this course goes beyond basic first aid care and covers in-depth emergency skills and procedures that need to be carried out in order to save a person's life on board a vessel, where access to medical facilities may be limited. Skills covered include T&S, emergency childbirth and other primary nursing skills. The minimum prerequisite for admission into this course is the Basic (Elementary) First Aid On Board Ship certification. Participants of this course may be eligible for Maritime Cluster Funding.
