Ask the Experts? Check this out on Junior n U website

April 24th, 2010

Abdul Rasheed DoadFrom the desk of Rasheed:

Do you have a first aid question? I will answer it for you on the Junior n U “Ask the Expert” page!

Last week, Junior n U called me and invited me to be part of the panel of experts for the category of first aid. Check it out here:

http://www.juniornu.com/community/ask-the-experts

The panel of experts include prominent names such as

  • Thenmoliee Joe (Kid’s behaviour, IQ, kids with special needs),
  • Claudel Kuek (Owner of PowerMoves Pilates Studio)
  • and Wong Li-Lin (yes, the actress from 90′s local drama “999″)

This is a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to post their questions and clear their doubts on first aid. In fact, I’ve already posted up a few common “myth busters” to begin with. You can read them here >>

My True Hero Seminar First Video Release!

October 4th, 2009

I am sure you have heard about our up and coming My True Hero Book to be released middle of this month. I am not sure if you are aware of this, but When you get the My True Hero book (it just costs $25 by the way), you will also receive 2 tickets to the My True Hero Seminar. This is not a first aid course. In fact, it is much more important that a first aid course.

Most people think that taking a first aid course is sufficient to turn you into a quick thinking, fast reacting first aider. The fact is this, first aid courses only teaches you what to do – it doesn’t teach you what to expect in a real life emergency. You can have all the skills in the world, but the nature of a real life emergency – the stress, anxiety, mind struggle, fears… these will take you out instantly. It doesn’t matter who the person who needs help is, where it occurs or how it occurs. The fact is how you are not able to deal with these factors in a real life emergency, you will get confused, freeze and panic – but do nothing productive.

For years, this has been a well-recognised problem. Yet until now, there is no course in the world that teaches you how to do this. That is why we developed the My True Hero Seminar.

Do catch my very own DIY introduction of the My True Hero Seminar which I recorded earlier this year below. If you want to know more about the seminar or just feel like having a good laugh seeing me on video, just follow the link to catch the video.

Thanks once again. If My True Hero Book and Seminar makes sense to you, do help me spread the word to your family, friends and associates. We’re looking at empowering the lives of 1000 people this November! So help us achieve this objective and let them be empowered to save the lives of others and their loved ones.

Thank you friends!

p.s. Remember, the book will include 2 free tickets to the seminar. The next one will be conducted at Singapore Expo this Nov!

p.s.s. The My True Hero Seminar is not a preview or sales pitch. It is a real, life changing program designed to turn ordinary people into extraordinary lifesavers.

SFATC Presentation on the First Aid of Today Part 3

March 14th, 2009

In the third and final segment of his presentation, Mr Rasheed answers a few more questions on first aid and CPR, commonly asked by laypersons. There are also reviews by the audience as well as sharing of real first aid experiences by members of the audience – which further validates the need for everyone to know the basics of first aid. This part of the first aid presentation is approximately 5 minutes long and is a must watch to conclusion to this presentation.

SFATC Presentation on the First Aid of Today Part 2

March 14th, 2009

This is the second part of the presentation which is conducted at BNI Renaissance on the 11th March 2009. During this segment, Mr Rasheed talks about what first aid really does and why it is so important, from the viewpoint of paramedics and doctors. Mr Rasheed also answers a few common questions about first aid and CPR. This segment is approximately 10 minutes long and is the second part of this first aid presentation.

AED Demonstration

March 11th, 2009

This is a funny spoof video which shows how the AED or Automated External Defibrillator is used along with CPR. Before you play, we must warn you of the unclear sound quality…. and the hilarious acting!

This is not an instructional video, but its intention is to educate and provide you with a simple understanding of how the AED is being used. And if you see from the video, AEDs are not hard to use at all! In fact, they are so easy to use, its ridiculous! AEDs come with voice prompts and visual prompts, guiding the rescuer every inch of what they require to do, all the way to the point where the shock is delivered.

Another highlight is that this shows the old method of CPR, where a pulse check is needed. As confirmed by the National Resuscitation Council, the pulse check is no longer necessary to determine if CPR or AED needs to be initiated. In fact, the good old “Look, Listen, Feel” to check for breathing is sufficient.

If all of these confuse you, then you need to be resuscitated in one of classes. Call us to check when is the next available class for CPR. Nothing beats good ol fashion CPR and AED practical on a dummy. Anyway, here is the video. Enjoy!
