is the American Heart Association?
SINCE
1924, the American
Heart Association (AHA) has been commited to combat heart disease and
stroke and raising the awareness for these diseases. The AHA mission
is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and
stroke."
The AHA publishes a standard for providing
basic and advanced life support through its Emergency Cardiovascular
Care (ECC) programs, which provide the standards for proper performance
of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid. ECC
programs educate healthcare providers, caregivers, and the general
public about how to respond to these emergencies. ECC programs train
more than 9 million people every year.
